2026-2027 Room Parent Parameters: (Please read before signing up)

• 2 Room Parents per classroom (other parents/guardians can help out by volunteering for other opportunities throughout the year)
• 1 Room Parent sign-up per year (if you have multiple students in multiple grades/classes, please only sign up for 1 of the Room Parent opportunities)
• Give new Parents/Guardian a chance to sign up; If you have served as a Room Parent in the past, please wait until September to sign up to be a Room Parent again. We appreciate your eagerness to volunteer in your child's classroom; however, we also want to give those Parents/Guardians who have not yet had the opportunity to do so a chance to sign up. If the spot is still open in September, please feel free to sign up then.

If your child's Room Parent opportunity is full or if you are looking for other ways to volunteer, please consider signing up for Lunch Volunteer opportunities and/or upcoming event volunteer opportunities via the PTO website. 

Room Parent Job Description: 

• Create class Parent/Guardian email and text distribution lists
• Send regular communications via email/text to class parents/guardians (communication templates will be provided by Stephani Briskman- Room Parent Chair) 
• Check in with class Teacher if they have any needs parents/guardians can assist with
• Collect funds (suggested donation $25 per student) from class parents/guardians to purchase teacher 3 appreciation gifts (Holiday $100 value; Teacher Appreciation Week $100 value; End of Year $100 value)
• Decorate classroom door for Halloween and Valentine's Day
• REQUIRED: Run 1 Classroom Game during Sherwood Carnival (2-hour shift split between 2 Room Parents [1 hr each] or staff room with an ADULT volunteer for duration of Carnival)
