SUBJECT: The Bamboo Bulletin: Volume 3- Pandas Can't Do it Alone- We need you Too!(9.9.25)

September 9, 2025

Happy Tuesday!

The Sherwood PTO is always looking for volunteers, no matter the time commitment they have. There are numerous ways to get involved at Sherwood! We strongly encourage you to attend PTO meetings and events. These gatherings are not just about sharing information, but also about fostering a sense of community, where you can discuss and share new ideas, and meet other Sherwood families. By participating, you'll gain a deeper understanding of what's happening at Sherwood and feel more connected to the school. The only way our PTO is successful is because of our volunteers, and it cannot run on just two people. Please consider donating your time to help make Sherwood PTO successful!

Our first General PTO Meeting of the year will be on Thursday, September 18, from 5-6 pm in the Library! If you are unable to attend in person, we will have a Zoom option for this meeting! Please join us and learn about the PTO!

Sign up for the Sherwood PTO Membership to stay connected!

Calling all Sherwood Pandas!! PTO Membership for the 2025-2026 school year is now open! (Joining the PTO Membership does not mean you are volunteering. It keeps you informed of all things Sherwood PTO and can get you Family Directory access.)

2. Receive pertinent PTO communications

Paid PTO membership includes the following:

Behind the Bamboo
Did you know about your PTO?

Did you know that the PTO actively organizes programs and events to enrich our students' learning and generate essential funds for our school? The money we raise directly enables us to provide teacher grants, fulfill teacher wish lists, and support field trips and assemblies, among many other important initiatives! Your involvement makes a difference!

Is this PTO thing a bit overwhelming? Are you hearing words and phrases and thinking, "What are they even talking about?!?"

The PTO is a warm and welcoming group where everyone is welcome, regardless of their time commitment. Are you thinking about doing something, but don't know where to begin? Start by joining us for our General PTO Meetings! The first one is September 18 from 5-6 in the Library! And since you've read this far in our email, we'll help you understand some Sherwood slang that will aid you when you hear people talking about Sherwood.

-Food Days- Lunch Solutions (you can order through our website or the Bamboo Bulletin. Lunch Solutions will be partnering with the PTO for food days this year. Next year, when we return to Sherwood, we will have lunch in our beautiful new cafeteria.)

-What does the number and letter associated with my child's classroom mean? The number next to your child's name represents the current grade your child is in. The letter represents the first letter in your child's teacher's last name!

More Sherwood slang will be shared next week. Please feel free to email us any questions you may have, and we'll add them to our Bamboo Bulletin!

Sherwood Shares

Each week, we will introduce you to a new or returning staff member from our Sherwood community! Stay tuned for a news staff member next week!
