Welcome Back!

We hope everyone had a great summer! With school starting, you know what that means: volunteering for the Sherwood PTO! The PTO is a volunteer organization dedicated to supporting and enhancing the educational experiences of students, teachers, and staff at Sherwood Elementary School. The PTO is an excellent way to get involved in your child's school! There are many opportunities to volunteer, whether you have a little or a lot of time to commit. We encourage everyone to get involved by attending meetings, joining a committee, volunteering at an event, or serving on the PTO board. The continued success of the PTO depends on the active participation of volunteers like YOU!

Calling all Sherwood Pandas!! PTO Membership for the 2025-2026 school year is now open! There are two options for you:

Unpaid PTO Membership includes the following:

1. Easily volunteer, place orders, and sign up for PTO sponsored events using our online portal.

2. Receive pertinent PTO communications

Paid PTO membership includes the following:

1. EXCLUSIVE access to our online directory of students and families* in the Membership Toolkit app. (*Families will not have access to your contact information if you do not pay. This is the ONLY school-wide directory available.)

2. Easily volunteer, place orders, and sign up for PTO sponsored events using our online portal.

More Ways to get involved!

The PTO is continuing to grow, and we want you to be a part of it! Your time and skills are greatly appreciated in whatever capacity you can give.

Besides the many volunteer opportunities throughout the year, the following PTO officer positions will be open for the 2025/2026 school year, and some would be ideal with two people sharing the responsibilities.

-Fundraising Chair (1 vacancy)

Behind the Bamboo

Did you know about your PTO?

Did you know that the PTO actively organizes programs and events to enrich our students' learning and generate essential funds for our school? The money we raise directly enables us to provide teacher grants, fulfill teacher wish lists, and support field trips and assemblies, among many other important initiatives! Your involvement makes a difference!

Before school began, the PTO hosted an Ice Cream Social for our incoming Kindergarten families, provided lunch for our teachers on their first day back at school, and hosted the Back-to-School Bash to meet our teachers and enjoy a frozen treat!

On Friday, August 21, the Sherwood PTO invited Mobile Ed to bring their mobile planetarium to our Pandas for their first assembly! We learned about the Milky Way, the sun, all the planets, and the moon! Not only did our Pandas reach for the stars, but they also got to see them!

Lunch Solutions

Sherwood PTO proudly partners with Lunch Solutions to offer convenient, pre-purchased hot lunch options from local restaurants, available five days a week. To ensure your child enjoys their meals, place your orders by Thursday at 10:00 a.m. for the following week.

Need to make adjustments? You can easily modify your order on the "Orders and Payments" screen, as long as changes are made by Thursday at 10:00 a.m. of the previous week.

If your child is absent on a day when lunch has been ordered, simply call the school by 10:00 a.m. if you’d like to pick up their lunch. If we don’t receive your call, we will donate the lunch to a student in need. Thank you for your cooperation!

PANDA BIRTHDAY SIGNS

Make your child's day by purchasing our Panda Birthday Signs! For $25, we will come to your house the night before your child's birthday and decorate your lawn with the signs. They will be up all day, so be sure to take plenty of pictures with them, and don't forget to share on our Instagram— and don't worry about removal! We have you covered. It's a great way to celebrate your child's birthday AND support the Sherwood PTO in the process!!

**Please remember to enter your child's birthday and address in the box provided on the form, and order at least two weeks prior to the date requested.**
